Galway Job Connector : Newsletter 7 - Open Talent Galway
Hello all,
Thank you all for subscribing to my newsletter, and welcome to edition number 7!
Are you restless this evening, I know I am!!! It may be because tonight is a full moon! I took this picture earlier:)
I started this “project” 7 weeks ago on Facebook only, as I wanted to see if I could leverage the power of Facebook to share my knowledge of the Galway Job Market with people that are looking for info.
Turns out there are a lot of you interested in the page, and the page has grown to just over 550 fans in 7 weeks, without paying for advertising, thank you for following, liking, tagging and your reviews. Especially the reviews are dear to me, as it shows that my effort is paying off for some of you. Thank you. I also got my 100th subscriber to this newsletter. Here is the link to my Facebook page, just in case you didn’t like it yet. Or why not forward this newsletter! I can see some of you have been doing this, as not everybody is in Facebook land:).
A little anecdote :
I have gotten to know a few of you, either via email or in person. I recently attended a Mailchimp training, and it was the first time in my life that I went to an event, sat at a table, and people said to me, I actually know you, I have subscribed to your newsletter. I was speechless( and that does not often happen to me). On that note, I will be moving to Mailchimp, so you will get a notification during the week.
If this Newsletter was forwarded to you, and you would like to receive the Sunday update yourself directly, please subscribe here, just your email is required.
Following on my previous newsletters where I talked about remote working in Galway/Ireland, this week I am sharing a super exciting, innovative project in Galway called Opentalent, which Tracy Keogh and myself are setting up in Galway. Next week I will be getting tips from Margaret Hession from https://www.careerguidancegalway.com/
What is Opentalent?
Open Talent is an event where the city opens up for jobs. Book off one weekend , and interview with up to 20 companies. It's free. Interested? Give it a like here: https://www.facebook.com/OpenTalentGalway/ or click on the below link that brings you straight to the Facebook page. You can also find us on the Twitter machine here : http://www.twitter.com/openuptalent
Please, please like the page, and share it, tweet about it!!!!
Why Opentalent?
Open talent gives you the ability to get your interviews out of the way in one weekend. It’s free and we’ll have some fun events build to help you get to know Galway, the employers and all of the rest.
When?
Like our page, and we will have the dates finalized in the next 2-3 weeks.
Is this for you?
We are going to work together with 20 companies , covering all job sectors in Galway!
